- ✔ First the outboard valve of the inlet and outlet of the (outside) cooling water system is closed.
- ✔ Then the lid of the weed filter is removed.
- ✔ As follows we start the generator and fill the weed filter with antifreeze until cooling water comes out of the (above water) outlet.
- ✔ After this, the generator is turned off again.
- ✔ After the generator is stopped, we open the outboard valve of the exhaust of the cooling water system for about 4 to 5 seconds.
- ✔ After it is closed again, the weed filter is filled with antifreeze and the inlet tap is opened again until the weed filter is (just) empty.
- ✔ After that the tap is closed again and the weed filter is filled with antifreeze and the lid is put back on (hand tightened).
- ✔ Finally, the oil/water filter is checked for the presence of water, if this is it is drained.
